Post-Game Quotes

Blue Jackets Head Coach Scott Arniel
Commenting on tonight's game…

"I thought the first period started slow and we weren't moving our feet. In the second period we dominated them up until that (shorthanded) goal. We gamble and we get caught in a two-on-one that we didn't play very well. There's something here, mental against this team, you could see it out there again and we saw it in Colorado."

Commenting on the replay of the third Colorado goal…
"All the replays that we saw, we talked to the guys on the ice and to (assistant coach) Dan Hinote from upstairs – you never see the puck underneath and it was under (Steve) Mason's pads. We felt that he got pushed back into the net and under the rules you can’t push a goalie into the net. The referee said that he saw the puck (crossed the goal line). Our feeling was he was pushed into the net by the Colorado player. (Mason) has to have the opportunity to make the save, which he did and he gets pushed in the net by their inside guy. The referee said he saw the puck in the net and it's tough to overrule that (call on the ice)."

Blue Jackets Center Andrew Murray

Commenting on his first game this season…

"It was good to be back out there, I would have liked to have had a different result, though obviously with the way things went out there. It's good to join the team and be out there competing. I think we had a lot of momentum, we were getting a lot of opportunities and we weren't able to capitalize on any and it goes the other way and it's in the back of our net. We just weren’t able to bounce back."

Blue Jackets Goalie Steve Mason

Commenting on tonight's game…

"It's frustrating. You win one game and the next game you come out with an effort like this. We had a game plan coming in and we just got away from it and they capitalized on their chances. At the end of the day we are just not doing our jobs."

Colorado Avalanche Head Coach Joe Sacco

Commenting on tonight’s game…

"I thought it was a good game. I thought we started on time. I thought we came out ready to play. I thought we showed those guys we were ready to play and it made a difference in the game."
