Post-Game Quotes

Blue Jackets Head Coach Scott Arniel

Commenting on tonight's game…

"It was a tough start there giving up two goals right away. (Jonas) Hiller was outstanding and we had a lot of opportunities to get that game evened up when it was 2-1. We played hard. We got behind the eight-ball, but didn't stop playing. We've come back in the last couple of games from 2-0 (deficits). Tonight we threw everything (at Anaheim) but couldn't get it done."

Commenting on the Anaheim power play…
"We made a big mistake on the first (goal) and then I am not sure if Mase (Steve Mason) got screened on the second (goal). When you give them a five-minute major that gets them off to a pretty good start… we killed the rest of it and gave ourselves an opportunity (to win the game)."

Commenting on the All-Star break…
"I am hoping first with the bumps and bruises that we can take these five days and heal, then mentally get ourselves ready for a big push. We need points – we can be close and play hard, compete and look nice – but if we don't get points we're not going to make the playoffs. What we've done in the last two weeks has been very good. I like the way we're working and competing, and doing all the right things."

Blue Jackets Center Derick Brassard
Commenting on tonight's game…

"They were at the end of a road trip. I think we had a good push tonight. We spent almost the entire second period in their zone. In the third we competed really hard. It was really hard to get some scoring chances. I think we should have deserved better. The past two games we have come back from two-goal leads. We are just going to have to take some rest right now and make sure we are ready to make a big push."

Blue Jackets Left Wing Rick Nash
Commenting on tonight's game…

"The guys are competing. It's frustrating when you keep going down two-to-nothing especially when you are at home. Guys are playing well and the team is moving and we have to be, going into this last stretch."

Anaheim Ducks Head Coach Randy Carlyle

Commenting on tonight's game…

"The guys are putting it on the line. Our guys have worked extremely hard to get themselves in the position we are in. We are having some fun right now and winning hockey games and winning it different ways. We have a template that we want to play to and the Jason Blake goal turns out to be the game-winner. We earned the hockey game, we earned our points."
