Jackets Play First of Huge Home and Home with Preds

by Jeff Rimer / Columbus Blue Jackets

March 31

Here we go again... The first of a home and home series with the Nashville Predators in what now amounts to a huge game... yes... the proverbial four-pointer. The Blue Jackets begin the night in sixth place... two points ahead of the suddenly charging Predators who have won three in a row and have points in eight straight games! Of course the Jackets are no slouches either... having gone 7-2-2 in their last 11 contests and have registered points in 18 of their last 23 games.

Coach Ken Hitchcock in addressing the media folliwing today's morning skate offered that right now his total focus is on HIS team but quickly added that the Predators, who were not long ago thought of as a team that would not qualify for the post season, are perpahps the most reslilient team in the NHL.

The Jackets head coach will tweak the lineup tonight... inserting Jiri Novotny in to the linep based on his solid game the last time the two teams met in Nashville and he will move the red-hot Jason Williams back to the wing on the seocnd line with Vermette and Umberger.

Fasten your seat belt the wild ride will continue through the final game of the season here at Nationwide against the Minnesota Wild... how appropriate!!

Enjoy Tonight!
