Jackets Host Wild as Rick Nash Returns!

by Jeff Rimer / Columbus Blue Jackets

March 19

After missing four games due to injury and the flu, the Blue Jackets captain and leading scorer returns to the lineup tonight. I thought Nash looked good in the Jackets two practices this week and will be re-united with Antoine Vermette and Kristian Huselius as the teams' top line.

Mathieu Garon gets the start for the Blue Jackets tonight with Minnesota's netminder being a game time decision between Josh Harding and Niklas Backstrom, who is suffering from a groin injury. Harding was pulled from the nets in last night's 5-0 shut out loss at Nashville.

Talking to Coach Claude Noel after yesterday's practice, Noel said he was pleased with what he saw in the brisk 35-minute skate adding, "we must manage the puck better than we did against Edmonton and we must get support down low."

Tonight's game takes on some added significance for Noel. His former player and assistant coach, who is now the Wild's head man, Todd Richards will be on the opposing bench. The two are very close and tonight's game represents the first time the two will face each other in the NHL as head coaches. Bragging rights at stake between the two? You bet!

Tonight's game on FOX Sports Ohio begins at 7 p.m. ... Blue Jackets Live at 6:30 p.m.
