Jackets Focused for Tonight's Game in Chicago

by Jeff Rimer / Columbus Blue Jackets

April 8

What with the Blackhawks having played and winning in Nashville last night the 'Hawks switched things up and had the Blue Jackets get the first skate at the United Center and it was "All Business" this morning for the CBJ!

The Jackets took the ice at 10:30 a.m., had a spirited morning skate, and then a lengthy post skate meeting and appear ready for tonight's game against the Blackhawks.

While most of us point to the fact the Blue Jackets are now just one point away from clinching playoff spot, the team is simply focused on playing better than they have the last two games. Coach Hitchcock says "everyone knows the scenario... we just want to play well... get pucks to the net... have better puck management and better defensive zone coverage."

It is not likely that Rusty Klesla returns tonight... but he could play Friday in St. Louis. Kristian Huselius remains back in Columbus, but feels much better today and might join his teammates in St. Louis Friday.

As for tonight's goaltending matchup... after Sunday's superb performances by Mason and Khabibulin, the two will again face one another tonight.
