SECOND PERIOD RECAP:
Finally some reward for the Blue Jackets on the scoreboard after the number of chances they've created -- particularly in the second period. Nick Foligno's goal drew the Blue Jackets level at 1-1, capping off a 3-on-2 rush led by Brandon Dubinsky. Dubinsky's pass went from board-to-board (through Savard's legs) and found the tape of Foligno, who ripped a beautiful shot inside the far post and into the net at 14:43. The Predators have dominated in shots, leading 30-16 in that regard after 40 minutes, but the Blue Jackets came alive after a torrid shift by the Dubinsky line midway through the period. Should be an entertaining third period.

FIRST PERIOD RECAP:
Unlike some of the previous exhibition games, this one was pretty entertaining right from the get-go. Both teams had some quality chances and the Blue Jackets created about four good looks on one power play alone, but it's Nashville with a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes here at Nationwide Arena. Tough luck for David Savard on the goal, too; he fumbled the puck at the blue line and Eric Nystrom was in face, applying pressure and ready to go the other way -- and he did just that. One slick move on Bobrovsky and it was 1-0 for the Predators, and that's where we stand after the first period with shots favoring Nashville, 13-9.

From the head coach...
-Sergei Bobrovsky will start tonight's game and is expected to play the full 60 minutes (and beyond, if necessary).
-Richards said Ryan Murray "keeps getting better and better each day" and he took part in more drills this morning, but he won't play tonight. There's no timetable for his return to game action.

-As for the play of both Wennberg and Dano, who are playing their first full pro season on North American ice, Richards said he's been very pleased with the play of both players. Wennberg has played mostly center but will line up on right wing tonight, while Dano is on left wing with Anisimov and Hartnell.
-Richards said not to read anything into tonight's lineup as to who's in or out. There are still plenty of difficult decisions looming and with rosters due Tuesday at 5 p.m., this is one final audition for those players on the bubble.
Here are this morning's lines and pairs for the Blue Jackets...
The Blue Jackets will wrap up their preseason schedule Saturday night when they host the Nashville Predators. It’s the second meeting between the two teams during the exhibition, with the Jackets shutting out the Predators 3-0 in Nashville’s final preseason home game behind 36 saves from Curtis McElhinney.
That Sept. 29 contest was a bounce-back performance for the Jackets coming off their first loss of the preseason in Pittsburgh. Aside from a stellar performance by McElhinney, the Blue Jackets' special teams made their mark as well. The Jackets connected on the power play with Artem Anisimov’s first period tally and then short-handed when James Wisniewski joined the rush to score his first goal of the preseason. Jared Boll scored his second goal of what has been an inspired preseason for him.
The Predators have not seen game action since facing the Blue Jackets in Nashville, but did make a roster move in that time. Nashville re-signed restricted free agent Taylor Beck, the team’s second-leading scorer in AHL Milwaukee last season, to a one-year deal.

The Blue Jackets made roster moves during the week as well, assigning forwards Simon Hjalmarsson
, T.J. Tynan, and goaltender Oscar Dansk
to Springfield (AHL). The roster currently stands at 29 players and must be down to 23 players by Tuesday evening at 5 p.m.
Todd Richards said mid-week that the last preseason game would be a combination between a dress rehearsal for the season opener and a final assessment of the bubble players looking to make the roster.
“We’re going to have some young guys in the lineup and we still need to make on or two final decisions with the group,” said Richards. “It’s going to be about trying to get as many of our guys out on the ice who are going to be here but we still have tough decisions to make.”
