After Cam Atkinson's shot was turned aside by Marc-Andre Fleury, Artemi Panarin flicks home the rebound to give Columbus an early 1-0 lead.

After Pierre-Luc Dubois picks the top corner, Vegas challenges the play for offside. The review rules the play is offside, the goal is taken off the board and the clock is reset to 14:19 remaining in the first period.

David Perron sends a pass straight into the slot and Erik Haula deflects the puck at the net. Joonas Korpisalo makes a great sliding save to keep the CBJ lead at 1-0.

David Perron puts the pick right on the stick of Erik Haula who lets a shot go from the high slot. Korpisalo is unable to make the stop and the game is now tied 1-1.

Artemi Panarin receives a pass from Zach Werenski, holds it briefly and sends it right back to him. As Werenski steps down from the blue line he smacks a one-timer passed Fleury to give Columbus a 2-1 advantage.

9:47 - GOAL: Cole nets first goal as a Blue Jacket, extends lead to 3-1. (Savard, Wennberg)

Ian Cole floats a long shot from the point and sneaks the puck passed Fleury to extend the Blue Jackets lead. The goal is Cole's first goal since joining Columbus at the trade deadline.

4:51 - PENALTY: CBJ head to penalty kill up 3-1.

After trading hits with David Perron, Seth Jones is assessed a 2:00 minor penalty for roughing. This is the second time the Blue Jackets go on the penalty kill in the game.
