Columbus Re-assigns Steve Goertzen To Syracuse

The Columbus Blue Jackets have re-assigned forward Steven Goertzen to the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League, Blue Jackets President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced Tuesday.

Goertzen has appeared in 39 games with the Blue Jackets this season, recording 44 penalty minutes and 23 shots on goal. A seventh round selection by the Blue Jackets in the 2002 Entry Draft, Goertzen made his NHL debut earlier this season on Oct. 21 against San Jose. He has also skated in 15 games for the Crunch this season, scoring 3-2-5 with 24 penalty minutes. The Stony Plain, Alberta native made his professional debut last season with 2-7-9 and 100 penalty minutes in 57 games with Syracuse.

The Blue Jackets return to action on Wednesday when they host the Los Angeles Kings at Nationwide Arena. Game time is set for 7 p.m., with FSN Ohio's Ice Breaker pre-game show starting at 6:30 p.m. The game will also be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM Sports Radio 1460 the Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101.
