ROOKIE CAMP RECAP Blue Jackets prospects participated in the annual NHL Prospects Tournament in Traverse City, Michigan from Sept. 6-10. Columbus posted a 1-2-1 record – beating St. Louis 5-4; falling 2-1 to Minnesota and 4-3 to Dallas and suffering a 5-4 shootout loss against Atlanta. Matt Calvert led the Jackets in scoring with 4-3-7 in four games.

OWNERS TOURNAMENT RESULTS Team Wolfe defeated Team Crane 5-1 in the championship game of the Blue Jackets Owners Tournament held during the first two days of training camp. Rick Nash collected a hat trick to lead Team Wolfe in the final played today. In the consolation game, Team Pizzuti beat Team McConnell 5-3 as Jonathan Sigalet scored two goals and Nikita Filatov added a goal and an assist. In Sunday’s first round games, Team Crane beat Team McConnell 3-2 in a shootout with 2009 first round draft pick John Moore scoring the deciding goal in the fifth round of the shootout. Team Wolfe erased a 3-0 deficit by scoring four times in a span of 2:30 early in the second period (games were two periods in length) to earn a 5-3 win over Team Pizzuti. Jon Mirasty, Kris Russell, Kristian Huselius, Nash and Grant Clitsome were the goal scorers and goaltender Mathieu Garon did not allow a goal while playing in net for one period for each team.

2009 TOP PICK JOHN MOORE TO SIGN AUTOGRAPHS THIS SUNDAY D John Moore, the Blue Jackets first-round pick in the 2009 Entry Draft, will be signing autographs on Sunday, Sept. 20 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the North High Street Giant Eagle located at 2801 North High Street, just north of Broadway. Also this Sunday, fans may visit Stinger at the Lancaster Giant Eagle (1394 Ety Shops Way) from 12-1 p.m. and members of the Pepsi Power Patrol at the Blacklick store (6867 East Broad Street) from 1-2 p.m. Schedule of team appearances is subject to change.

PEPSI TEAMS UP WITH BLUE JACKETS FOR TICKET PROMOTION TO KICK OFF 2009-10 SEASON
Starting today through Sunday, Sept. 27, Columbus-area shoppers who purchase four 12-packs of Pepsi or Diet Pepsi (regular or caffeine free) in a single transaction at Central Ohio Giant Eagle or other participating grocery and convenience stores can receive two tickets to selected home games. “HOCKEY: IT’S IN YOUR BLOOD” DRIVE SET FOR SEPT. 23 – BEAT THE PREDATORS!
