COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets announced today Columbus-area bd's mongolian barbeque restaurants and Dick's Sporting Goods are among the most recent corporate partners to renew their agreements with the hockey club.
The primary component of bd's mongolian barbeque's partnership is presenting status on "Hats For Heroes" night at three local bd's restaurants. The annual fundraiser features concurrent, in-store visits by Blue Jackets players and team broadcasters. Proceeds from sales of $1 paper hats, raffles and the donation of all server tips benefit the pediatric oncology unit at Nationwide Children's Hospital and other organizations dedicated to the fight against pediatric cancer. The agreement also calls for in –game promotion on the video scoreboard.
Dick's Sporting Goods' renewal also incorporated charitable elements including the third annual "Shop with a Blue Jacket." During this December event, several Blue Jackets gather at a Columbus-area Dick's Sporting Goods store to guide deserving children on a holiday shopping spree. The sporting goods chain also supports the Blue Jackets Foundation's Hockey Fest family carnival fundraiser. Additionally, the partnership includes traditional elements such as in-game promotional opportunities and appearances by the teams' mascot, Stinger.
It was also announced today that B & C Communications, the Blue Jackets' preferred provider of two-way radio communications, and Dippin' Dots also renewed their respective partnerships with the team.
