Columbus Blue Jackets Prospect Boone Jenner Among 41 Players Invited to Canada's National Junior Team Selection Camp for 2012 WJC

COLUMBUS, OHIO – Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Boone Jenner has been selected by Hockey Canada, in partnership with the Canadian Hockey League, for Canada’s National Junior Team Selection Camp, scheduled for December 10-14 at the WinSport Canada Athletic & Ice Complex in Calgary. The camp roster includes 23 forwards, 14 defensemen and four goaltenders.

Jenner, 18, has registered 13 goals and 17 assists for 30 points, 37 penalty minutes and is +4 in 24 games with the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League. He leads the team in assists, points, power play goals (5, tied for 12th in OHL) and shorthanded goals (2, tied for 11th in OHL) and is second in goals.

The Dorchester, Ontario native was the Blue Jackets’ second pick, 37th overall, at the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He collected 25-41-66, 57 penalty minutes and was +10 plus/minus rating in 63 games with Oshawa in 2010-11. In 152 career OHL games, he tallied 57-88-145 and 185 penalty minutes and was also named to the 2009-2010 OHL All-Rookie Team.

Canada’s National Junior Team Selection Camp will help in identifying players for Canada’s National Junior Team for the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship, which will be held from December 26, 2011 to January 5, 2012 in Calgary and Edmonton.

The Blue Jackets return to action Tuesday when the club visits the Vancouver Canucks. Game time from Rogers Arena is set for 10 p.m. ET.
