Columbus Blue Jackets Breakaway Tour Celebrates Eighth Year of Bringing the Fun of Street Hockey to Communities Across Ohio

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets are bringing the fun and excitement of the game of hockey to cities across Ohio for the eighth consecutive year with the Blue Jackets Breakaway Tour 2008, presented by Huntington, Interstate Gas Supply (IGS) and the Blue Jackets Radio Network. The interactive tour will visit numerous locations across the state with the first stop on Saturday, April 26 at Ohio University in Athens.

Blue Jackets Breakaway 2008 is a "hockey carnival" for fans of all ages that includes street hockey games, appearances by popular mascot Stinger, and Blue Jackets inflatable attractions. In addition, Blue Jackets ticketing representatives will be on hand at each stop.

The Blue Jackets Radio Network affiliates supporting local Breakaway events are WATH (Athens), WCLT (Newark), WARF/WKDD (Akron/Canton), WHIZ (Zanesville) and WBEX (Chillicothe).

All Breakaway attendees can pick up a gift bag that includes a T-shirt compliments of IGS and a Sport-Danna compliments of Columbia Gas of Ohio. Fans will also have the opportunity to register to win prizes such as autographed merchandise and a grand prize package consisting of four Time Warner Cable HD Lounge lower bowl seats (including dinner for four) and an autographed Rick Nash 2007 NHL All-Star jersey.
