COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have added eight players, including five of the six players the club drafted this past weekend at the NHL Entry Draft, to their Development Camp roster, club General Manager Scott Howson announced June 28.
Defenseman John Moore, who was Columbus' first pick, 21st overall, at this past weekend’s Entry Draft, was added to the roster along with 2009 draft picks: center Kevin Lynch (second round, 56th overall), defenseman David Savard (fourth round, 94th overall), defenseman Thomas Larkin (fifth round, 137th overall) and right wing Kyle Neuber (seventh round, 197th overall). Also added to the roster were free agents: left wing Darren Archibald, forward Josh Boyd and left wing Tayler Jordan.
The Development Camp is set to begin tomorrow, Monday, June 29 and continue through Thursday, July 2 at the Dispatch Ice Haus. The development camp will begin with medicals and fitness testing as well as an on-ice session Monday before three days of on and off-ice workouts commence on Tuesday.
On-ice workouts, which are open to the public, will be held from 2:45 to 4:15 p.m. on Monday and from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. All on-ice times are subject to change. Conducting the on-ice elements of the camp will be Blue Jackets Head Coach Ken Hitchcock, Assistant Coach Claude Noel and Development Coach Tyler Wright.
