COLUMBUS, OHIO --- The Columbus Blue Jackets today announced that defenseman Cody Goloubef has been added to the roster on emergency recall from the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.
Goloubef, 23, has appeared in 10 games with the Blue Jackets this season, scoring a goal and registering 10 hits, six blocked shots and 12 shots on goal. He scored his first career NHL goal on Feb. 11 in a 6-2 win over the San Jose Sharks. He has also chipped in 5-7-12 with 38 penalty minutes and a +9 plus/minus rating in 32 games with Springfield in 2012-13.
Columbus’ second pick, 37th overall, in the 2009 NHL Draft, Goloubef has registered 11-30-41 in 130 career AHL games in two professional seasons. Prior to turning pro, the 6-1, 190-pound native of Mississauga, Ontario spent three years at the University of Wisconsin, collecting 12-25-37 and 138 penalty minutes in 118 games from 2007-10.
The Blue Jackets return to action on Sunday for a home game vs. Minnesota. Game time is 6 p.m. at Nationwide Arena.
