Jared Boll (Plymouth) - Boll netted one goal in four games last week to improve his season totals to 5-5-10 with 58 penalty minutes in 18 games. He ranks T-15th in the OHL in Penalty Minutes and T-18th in Rookie Points. Columbus' fourth pick, 101st overall, in the 2005 Entry Draft, Boll spent the past two seasons with Lincoln of the USHL, where he registered 29-32-61 and 470 PIM in 116 games.
Trevor Hendrikx (Peterborough) - Hendrikx posted 1-2-3 in three games last week. For the season he has registered 2-9-11 with a +6 rating in 12 games played. Peterborough enters the weekend with the best record in the OHL (14-2-1-0; 29 points) and the No. 1 ranking in the CHL's Top-10. Hendrikx entered the season with 25-68-93 in 232 career OHL games, coming off of a career-year with 15-33-48 in 68 games during the '04-05 campaign.
Dan LaCosta (Barrie) - LaCosta returned from injury last week and stopped 89-of-93 shots in three appearances for a 1.32 goals against average and .957 save percentage. He enters this week as the OHL league leader in GAA (2.38), SV% (.928), and shutouts (2), while his eight wins rank T-5th in the league. A third round selection by the Blue Jackets in the 2004 Entry Draft, LaCosta was 25-11-4 with a 2.86 GAA and .902 SV%, and one shutout, ranking tied for second in the OHL in wins.
Adam McQuaid (Sudbury) - McQuaid nearly doubled his season's point production with two assists in three games played last week to improve his yearly totals to 2-3-5 in 18 games. Columbus' second round selection, 55th overall, in the 2005 Entry Draft, he entered the season with 6-22-28 and 123 PIM in 113 career OHL games.
Kyle Wharton (Sault Ste. Marie) - Wharton dished out three assists in three games last week. For the season he has registered 4-9-13 with 40 penalty minutes in 19 contests. He ranks T-18th in the OHL in points by a defenseman. Columbus' second round pick, 59th overall, in the 2004 Entry Draft, Wharton has recorded 12-39-51 with 109 PIM in 139 career OHL games.
Philippe Dupuis (Moncton) - In three games last week Dupuis dished out eight assists to improve his season totals to 5-16-21 in just 11 games played. Moncton owns the best winning percentage in the QMJHL (.750; 15-4-1-0) and is ranked No. 10 in the CHL's Top-10. Dupuis ranked among the QMJHL scoring leaders last year with 34-50-84 in 62 games for Rouyn-Noranda. He was traded from Rouyn-Noranda to Moncton during the offseason.
Adam Pineault (Moncton) - Pineault posted 1-1-2 in his first game back from injury. He's played in five games this season, with 3-4-7. Moncton owns the best winning percentage in the QMJHL (.750; 15-4-1-0) and is ranked No. 10 in the CHL's Top-10. A second round pick by the Blue Jackets in the 2004 Entry Draft, he ranked among the QMJHL rookie leaders in most major statistical categories last season with 26-20-46 and +12 rating in 61 games. He missed two weeks during the 2003-04 season while playing with Team USA at World Junior Championships and is a candidate to skate for Team USA at this years World Juniors.
Petr Pohl (Acadie-Bathurst) - Pohl registered 1-7-8 in four games last week. He has opened the 2005-06 season with 11-27-38, three game-winning goals, and a +5 rating in 22 contests. He ranks among the QMJHL's Top-10 in points (T-7th), assists (2nd), and game-winning goals (T-4th). Acadie-Bathurst leads the QMJHL with 35 points (16-4-1-2) and ranks No. 2 in the CHL's Top-10. A 2004 Entry Draft selection by the Blue Jackets, Pohl entered the year with 50-59-109 in 132 career QMJHL games.
Justin Vienneau (Shawinigan) - Vienneau scored his first goal of the season last week and has recorded 1-6-7 with 69 PIM in 20 games, just five assists shy of his career high set last year. He ranks T-6th in the league in PIM. A 2004 Entry Draft selection by the Blue Jackets, he entered the season with 4-18-22 and 275 PIM in 113 career QMJHL games.
Derek Reinhart (Regina) - Reinhart recorded his first point of the season with an assist last week. He enters this week's games with 0-1-1, a +3 rating and 35 PIM in 15 games. After opening the season 4-4-0-0, Regina enters this week's play with an 8-3-0-0 mark in its last 11 games. The defenseman was Columbus' sixth pick, 177th overall, in this summer's Entry Draft. He entered the year with 3-11-14 and 312 PIM in 123 career WHL games.
Kris Russell (Medicine Hat) - Russell has recorded 4-12-16 with two power-play goals and a +5 rating in 18 games. He ranks T-5th in the WHL in points by a defenseman. Medicine Hat enters the weekend with the most points in the WHL (30 points; 12-3-0-6). Russell was Columbus' third pick, 67th overall, in this summer's Entry Draft. He ranked among the league's top scoring defensemen last season with 26-35-61 in 72 games, the most goals scored by a defenseman in any of the three Canadian Junior leagues.
