NEWS & NOTES
•The Blue Jackets have recorded 11 of their 23 goals in the second period, tied for second most in the NHL (Vancouver & San Jose) and three goals behind league leader, Dallas. They have recorded goals in seven of the eight second periods this season.
•Columbus has scored a power play goal in six of their eight games and has connected on 18.8% of their chances (6-of-32), good for 18th in the league.
•The Jackets have collected back-to-back season highs in hits, collecting 33, Oct. 24 at Anaheim and 37, Oct. 26 at Los Angeles. They currently are T-16th in the NHL with 186 hits.
•Columbus begins a stretch of eight straight games against the Eastern Conference over the next 18 days, including five against Metropolitan Division foes. The Blue Jackets will play division games against New Jersey, Carolina (twice), Washington and Philadelphia over that span.
•C Ryan Johansen is T-8th in the NHL in points (5-6-11) and has recorded points in all eight games this season. HOCKEY HALLOWEEN WITH THE JACKETS
The Blue Jackets will host a special Hockey Halloween with the Jackets on Friday, October 31 at Nationwide Arena as Columbus takes on the Toronto Maple Leafs. Kids 12 and under can enjoy free candy at five Trick or Treat stations throughout the arena. Other activities include a pumpkin decorating station, costume contest, Halloween photo station and in-game candy toss.
