It was a pretty good week for Blue Jackets fans! The Jackets got back in the win column with victories over the Philadelphia Flyers and the San Jose Sharks. Fans are excited for the Bruins’ visit to Nationwide Arena tonight, when the Jackets will look for their third win in four games.

Fans sounded off on Columbus hockey this week, touching on new additions, the Jackets’ path ahead to climb the division standings, and their thoughts on the “distinct kicking motion.”

The Hockey Writers know the Blue Jackets are in familiar territory in the standings based on the last couple of seasons. They also know the team overcame that early-season obstacle last year and can do it again. They lay out their roadmap for a Blue Jackets’ recovery.

Another blueliner has been playing pretty darn well. The Dark Blue Jacket is impressed with Tim Erixon's performance.

Union and Blue also discussed one of the hiccups this past week, a 5-0 loss to Detroit and the Blue Jackets' third period difficulties.

In that game, the Jackets suffered some early bad luck when Boone Jenner’s first period goal was disallowed, official ruling it was directed in with a distinct kicking motion. The Cannon raises the question, is it time to kick the distinct kicking motion?

Finally, BS Hockey gives us our dose of fancy stats for the week and takes a closer look at that Jackets’ third period struggle.
