Jan. 17, 2008 – Rick Nash scores one of the most dynamic goals in NHL history as he beats a pair of Phoenix defensemen and goaltender Mikael Tellqvist with 21.5 seconds remaining in the third period to lift the Blue Jackets to a 4-3 win over the Coyotes at Jobing.com Arena. Phoenix had scored a power play goal with Nash in the penalty box to tie the game at 3-3 right before the Jackets captain's heroics.

Jan. 11 – Phoenix 4, at COLUMBUS 3: Derek Morris’ third period goal lifted the Coyotes to the win as Phoenix overcame 2-0 and 3-1 deficits to earn the victory despite being outshot by the Jackets 40 to 28. Jared Boll, Rostislav Klesla and Kristian Huselius scored for Columbus… Jan. 14 – at COLUMBUS 3, Detroit 2 (SO): Steve Mason made 26 saves and stopped all four Detroit shootout attempts, while Antoine Vermette scored the shootout game-winner to lead the Jackets. Columbus took a 2-0 lead on goals by Jakub Voracek and Grant Clitsome before the Wings rallied behind 21 saves from Joey MacDonald, who replaced an injured Jimmy Howard midway through the first period… Jan. 15 – at Detroit 6, COLUMBUS 5 (OT): Rick Nash tallied 1-2-3, including the tying goal with 1:04 left in the third period to force overtime, but Johan Franzen netted the game-winner 45 seconds into the extra session. The Blue Jackets have earned points in back-to-back games (1-0-1) after a season-high five-game losing streak from Jan. 2-11 that came on the heals of three-straight wins from Dec. 27-31… Columbus enters the week having posted a 7-2-0 mark vs. Eastern Conference clubs this season and is 34-15-6 vs. the East since the start of the 2007-08 season… The Jackets are 15-2-2 vs. the Southeast Division since 2007... NASH NAMED TO FIFTH-STRAIGHT ALL-STAR GAME
LW/RW Rick Nash, who has 3-2-5 during his current four-game point streak, was named to his fifth-straight All-Star Game by the NHL last week. The Jackets captain, who also appeared in the 2004, 2007, 2008 and 2009 All-Star Games, has tallied 6-4-10 to lead all NHL players in ASG scoring since 2004. He currently leads the club in scoring with 21-18-39 in 44 games and ranks among NHL leaders in goals (9th), game-winning goals (4th-T, 5) and shots (7th, 181). The 2011 All-Star Game presented by Discover will be held at the RBC Center in Raleigh, North Carolina on Sunday, January 30. It will be televised live on VERSUS at 4 p.m. ET.
TYUTIN BOLSTERING BLUELINE
D Fedor Tyutin is riding a four-game point streak (1-4-5) to push his season totals to 3-12-15 in 43 games. He has collected points in eight of the past 11 games (2-7-9) and has 3-9-12 the past 19 games after being held to 0-3-3 the first 24 games of the season. He has also logged 18-plus minutes in all but three games this season and has topped the 20-minute mark in 19-straight games.
SPEAKING OF BOLSTERING THE BLUELINE
D Grant Clitsome has appeared in three games since being recalled from Springfield (AHL) and he has tallied 2-1-3, averaged 18:20 of ice time, fired off three shots and registered seven hits. After being held without a point in his season debut vs. Phoenix on Jan. 11, he scored a goal vs. Detroit on Jan. 14 and added 1-1-2 at Detroit the following night. He now has 3-3-6 in 14 career NHL games.
RW Jakub Voracek has tallied 4-6-10 in his last 11 games, including 0-2-2 and a +3 plus/minus rating at Detroit on Jan. 15, to raise his season totals to 9-19-28 and +2 in 43 games… LW R.J. Umberger, who has played in 212 consecutive games dating back to April 2008, has scored seven goals in his last 12 games and ranks second on the club in goals and points with 15-15-30 in 45 outings… Rookie LW Matt Calvert has scored two goals in his first five NHL games.

The Blue Jackets and Bob Evans Restaurants have teamed up to introduce the Student Achievers Program, which encourages scholastic excellence, civic responsibility and perseverance by rewarding students with free tickets to Blue Jackets games and free kid’s meals at local Bob Evans restaurants.
