After playing a franchise record six consecutive home games between Feb. 6-18, the Blue Jackets will play five of their next seven games on the road, including their first visit to Madison Square Garden to face the NY Rangers since Dec. 3, 2002 (5-3 Rangers win). Columbus is 4-2-1 all-time vs. the Rangers with wins in four of the last five meetings.
Columbus has gone 7-8-2 in its last 17 road games after beginning the season 2-9-0 away from home.
The Blue Jackets will play the 17th of 21 sets of back-to-back games this weekend, visiting the NY Rangers on Saturday and hosting the Nashville Predators on Sunday. Columbus is 8-7-1 in first games, with wins in two straight, and 6-9-1 in second games, with wins in two of the last three.
Head Coach Ken Hitchcock is expected to coach in his 800th career game when the Jackets host the Nashville Predators on Sunday. He has compiled a 426-267-103 record in 796 career games heading into this week's action.
