Blue Jackets to Visit Reds on Wednesday

COLUMBUS, OHIO - Columbus Blue Jackets players are trading in their skates and sticks for a bat and glove as they will be special guests of FOX Sports Ohio and the Cincinnati Reds prior to Wednesday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers at Great American Ball Park, the clubs and FOX Sports Ohio announced today. In addition, General Manager Scott Howson will deliver the official game ball and Head Coach Scott Arniel will throw out the first pitch.

Prior to Wednesday's game, Jared Boll, Derick Brassard, Derek Dorsett, Mathieu Garon, Steve Mason, John Moore and Kris Russell will shag fly balls in the outfield during batting practice and sign autographs for fans from 5:45-6:45 p.m. Arniel will visit the FOX Sports Ohio broadcast booth during the game. The Blue Jackets will open their 10th NHL season with a pair of games against the San Jose Sharks at Ericcson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden on Friday, Oct. 8 and Saturday, Oct. 9. The home opener is set for Friday, Oct. 15, when the club hosts the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks. Game time from Nationwide Arena is set for 7 p.m. ET.
