The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled forwards Dan Fritsche, Nikolai Zherdev and Geoff Platt from the Syracuse Crunch, their American Hockey League affiliate, club President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced today.
All three players were assigned to the Crunch on December 2 and helped Syracuse post a pair of wins over the weekend. Zherdev and Platt each scored a goal and Fritsche picked up 0-1-1 in two games. Zherdev netted the game-winning goal in a 4-2 win at Philadelphia on Sunday and added a shootout goal in a 5-4 win at Hershey on Saturday.
The Blue Jackets return to action on Thursday against the New York Islanders. Game time at Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m., with FSN Ohio's Ice Breaker pregame show starting at 6:30 p.m. The game will also be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM Sports Radio 1460 the Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101.
