COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled defenseman Marc Methot from the Syracuse Crunch, Columbus American Hockey League affiliate, club President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced Sunday. The club also assigned forward Geoff Platt to Syracuse.
Methot, 21, has recorded one goal and 14 assists for 15 points with 50 penalty minutes and has a +12 plus/minus rating in 56 games with the Crunch this season. Columbus seventh pick, 168th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, he has collected 3-25-28 with 125 penalty minutes and is +16 in 126 career AHL games. He is expected to make his NHL debut tonight against the Nashville Predators.
The Blue Jackets and Predators are set to meet at Nationwide Arena at 6 p.m. ET with live coverage on FSN Ohio beginning with the IceBreaker pre-game show at 5:30 p.m. Coverage also includes the Blue Jackets Ice Cap post-game show immediately following the game.
