COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Blue Jackets have re-assigned right wing Steven Goertzen to the Syracuse Crunch, the club's American Hockey League affiliate, club President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced today.
Goertzen, 21, was scoreless with 10 penalty minutes and six shots on goal in nine games with the Blue Jackets this season. He has also skated in two games with Syracuse this season, recording five penalty minutes. A seventh round selection by the Blue Jackets in the 2002 Entry Draft, Goertzen made his professional debut last season with 2-7-9 and 100 penalty minutes in 57 games with Syracuse.
The Blue Jackets open a four-game homestand on Wednesday night when they host the St. Louis Blues. Game time is set for 7 p.m. with FSN Ohio's Ice Breaker pregame show starting at 6:30 p.m. The game will also be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM Sports Radio 1460 the Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101. The homestand continues with games against Edmonton (Nov. 11) and Los Angeles (Nov. 13) before concluding with a re-match against St. Louis (Nov. 16).
