Blue Jackets Playing Much Better of Late, Look to Beat Predators Tonight!

by Blue Jackets Staff / Columbus Blue Jackets

December 31

The Blue Jackets, aside from their lack of goal scoring, are playing much better hockey of late.

That said...

It's Game 42 for the Blue Jackets tonight signaling the start of the second half of their regular season schedule as they host the Nashville Predators. The Jackets who have picked up three of a possible four points in their two starts this week, including Monday's exciting 1-0 overtime win against Detroit at Nationwide, hope to register their first win in four tries over the Predators. The two games in Nashville both went to shootout and both were won by the Predators, by a 4-3 score. In the last meeting here at Nationwide in mid-December the Predators won 5-3 on the strength of Steve Sullivan's hat trick.

Coach Hitchcock told the gathered media this morning that he told his hockey club to leave it on the ice tonight, giving it all they have, because the Predators will. He referred to Nashville as a "hungry hockey club"... adding, "their competitive players drive the bus!"

No lineup changes for the Jackets this evening other than Mathieu Garon will get the start. Pekka Rinne goes for the Predators.

Game time is 7 p.m. It will be another big crowd for this one, but good seats remain. Can't think of a better place to start your New Years Eve Celebrations! Join us at Nationwide tonight... if not Tonight's telecast is in HD beginning at 6:30 with Ray Crawford and Blue Jackets Live.

Happy and Healthy New Year to one and all!!
