Blue Jackets Place Fritsche on Injured Reserve

The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed forward Dan Fritsche on Injured Reserve, team President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced Wednesday. Fritsche suffered a shoulder injury during the first period Oct. 9 vs. Phoenix.

Fritsche, 21, has recorded one assist and two penalty minutes in three games this season for the Blue Jackets. He has tallied seven goals and eight assists for 15 points with 34 penalty minutes in 81 career NHL games, all with Columbus.

The Blue Jackets return to action on Friday when they travel to take on the Minnesota Wild at the Xcel Energy Center. Game time is set for 8 p.m. Live coverage on FSN Ohio begins with the IceBreaker, pre-game show at 7:30 p.m. and includes the Blue Jackets Ice Cap post-game show immediately following the game. The game will also be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM Sports Radio 1460 the Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101.
