COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed forward Fredrik Modin on Injured Reserve retroactive to January 7 and activated defenseman Marc Methot off Injured Reserve, club General Manager Scott Howson announced January 18.
Modin has missed the past five games after being injured at Edmonton on January 7. He has tallied one goal and one assist for two points and 12 penalty minutes in 14 games this season. The Sundsvall, Sweden native has registered 221-222-443 and 425 penalty minutes in 828 career NHL games.
Methot has missed the past 12 games since being injured at Dallas on December 23. He has appeared in 31 games this season, collecting 1-3-4 and 35 penalty minutes. Columbus’ eighth pick, 200th overall, in the 2003 Entry Draft has notched 5-20-25 and 110 penalty minutes with a cumulative plus/minus rating of +2 in 126 career NHL games.
The Blue Jackets return to action tonight when they host the St. Louis Blues. Game time from Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m. ET.
