The Columbus Blue Jackets will host the club's annual National Hockey League Entry Draft Party on Saturday, June 24 beginning at 4 p.m. at the Bud Light Arena Pub (formerly Blue Jackets Bistro) located at Nationwide Arena. As a result of the NHL Draft Drawing, the Blue Jackets currently have the sixth pick
overall in the Draft, which will be held at GM Place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Fans are invited to watch live television coverage of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft from Vancouver while Sports Radio 1460 The Fan, the AM radio home of the Columbus Blue Jackets, broadcasts live from the Bud Light Arena Pub beginning at 5:30 p.m. Blue Jackets Radio Network host Mark Wyant will anchor the broadcast while the Blue Jackets Radio Network team of play-by-play voice George Matthews and color analyst Bill Davidge, along with FSN Ohio announcer Jeff Rimer, provide up-to-the-minute analysis of each selection. In addition, Dan Fritsche will be signing autographs at the draft party on Saturday from 5-6pm on the Pontiac-GMC Drive.
In anticipation of the 2007 National Hockey League Entry Draft, which will be hosted by the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena on Saturday, June 23, 2007, fans in attendance will witness the grand unveiling of the logo for the Columbus event. New Draft merchandise will be available for purchase at that time.
In addition to live draft coverage and the unveiling of the 2007 logo, Blue Jackets forward Dan Fritsche will be on hand to meet fans and sign autographs from 5-6 p.m. Other activities throughout the evening will include street hockey on McConnell Plaza, Big Hockey on the Pontiac-GMC Parkway, trivia games along with appearances by Stinger and members of the Pepsi Power Patrol. The Bud Light Arena Pub will feature a menu of Rooster’s food items and the bar will be open.
