COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets, in partnership with WBNS-10TV, are asking fans to support The Salvation Army of Central Ohio’s efforts to help local families in need by donating a coat during the seventh annual “Jackets for Jackets” coat drive. Fans are encouraged to donate new and gently used coats of all sizes between Monday, November 18 and Saturday, December 14 at Nationwide Arena, participating OhioHealth Chiller Ice Rinks and FOX Sports Ohio Blue Line locations. All of the collected coats will be donated to the Salvation Army of Central Ohio and then redistributed to local families in need.
Donations will be accepted at Nationwide Arena during Blue Jackets home games on Wednesday, November 27 (vs. Nashville); Friday, November 29 (vs. Edmonton); Tuesday, December 3 (vs. Tampa Bay); Friday, December 6 (vs. Minnesota); Tuesday, December 10 (vs. New Jersey) and Saturday, December 14 (vs. St. Louis). Fans may also visit the FOX Sports Ohio Blue Line at Nationwide Arena, the FOX Sports Ohio Blue Line at The Mall at Tuttle Crossing as well as the OhioHealth Chiller Easton, the OhioHealth Chiller Dublin or the OhioHealth Chiller North to make donations.
Since the inception of the “Jackets for Jackets” program in 2007, more than 7,500 coats have been donated and redistributed by The Salvation Army of Central Ohio to families in need.
The Blue Jackets return to action tonight hosting the Montreal Canadiens at Nationwide Arena. Game time is 7 p.m. Live coverage of the game on FOX Sports Ohio HD begins with the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show starting at 6:30 p.m. The game will also be broadcast live on the Columbus Blue Jackets Radio Network, including flagship station 97.1 The Fan in Columbus, and online at BlueJackets.com.
