COLUMBUS, OHIO – For the second year in a row, several Columbus Blue Jackets players and their wives/girlfriends will take turns as celebrity models alongside pediatric cancer heroes from Nationwide Children's Hospital during a charity style show at Saks Fifth Avenue at Polaris Fashion Place on Sunday, Oct. 28 starting at 6:30 p.m. Proceeds from "Black Tie. Blue Jackets." presented by Kelly BMW will benefit the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation’s local Hats For Heroes program and related pediatric cancer research initiatives including CureSearch National Childhood Cancer Foundation.
Players scheduled to appear include Gilbert Brule, Jason Chimera, Adam Foote, Dan Fritsche, Ron Hainsey, Rostislav Klesla, Manny Malhotra, Jiri Novotny, Jody Shelley, Ole-Kristian Tollefsen and Nikolai Zherdev. Guests can expect to see the players and wives preview the latest trends courtesy of Saks Fifth Avenue. Blue Jackets FSN Ohio play-by-play announcer Jeff Rimer, public address announcer Greg Murray and in-arena host Mike Todd will share duties as event emcees. Following the show, guests are invited to shop at Saks Fifth Avenue and mingle with the Blue Jackets.
A new element for this year's event is an exclusive VIP reception at Saks Fifth Avenue hosted by the Blue Jackets players and their wives from 6-7 p.m. Guests who purchase the $250 VIP ticket gain admission to the pre-show gathering that will feature cocktails provided by Heidelberg Distributing Company , hors d'oeuvres courtesy of Brio Tuscan Grille and a scotch tasting presented by Castle Forbes. The VIP package also includes a reserved seat for the style show, a gift bag from Saks, and valet parking.

The Blue Jackets Foundation was founded in March 2000 and has since donated over $1.5 million dollars to local non-profit organizations dedicated to one or more of its main pillars of giving: pediatric cancer, education, children's health and safety and the development of youth and amateur hockey.
