Blue Jackets director of amateur scouting Paul Castron to depart organization

COLUMBUS, OHIO -- Paul Castron has been named director of amateur scouting for the New Jersey Devils, Blue Jackets General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen and Devils General Manager Ray Shero announced today. Castron has been a member of the Blue Jackets hockey operations department since 1999.

“On behalf of everyone at the Blue Jackets, I want to thank Paul for his years of service, dedication, tireless work and many contributions to our organization,” said Kekalainen. “This is a great opportunity for Paul and I wish him, his wife, Terri, and their family the best of luck in the future.”

Castron joined the Blue Jackets as an amateur scout in 1999, served as the club’s director of player development from 2002-06 and was named director of amateur scouting in 2006. Prior to joining the Blue Jackets, he spent eight years as a scout with the Ottawa Senators.
