COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets will ring in 2012 with a Bicentennial-themed fireworks show, presented by 200Columbus, inside Nationwide Arena on Sunday, Dec. 31 following the 7 p.m. game against the Washington Capitals. Festivities planned around the New Year’s Eve game signal a start to 200Columbus the Bicentennial, a year-long celebration of the city's 200th birthday.
In honor of the Bicentennial kick-off, Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman and members of City Council will be part of a ceremonial puck drop. The night culminates with a brief indoor fireworks display shortly after the final horn sounds.
