Blue Jackets Assign Konopka to Syracuse

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned forward Zenon Konopka to the Syracuse Crunch, Columbus' American Hockey League affiliate, club President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced today.

Konopka, 26, registered 20 penalty minutes in three games with Columbus after being acquired in a trade from Anaheim on January 26. He has 11-25-36 with 99 penalty minutes and is +20 in 43 AHL games this season with the Crunch and Portland Pirates. In 267 career AHL games, he has collected 75-133-208 with 804 penalty minutes and is +54.

The Blue Jackets return to action tonight when they host the San Jose Sharks at Nationwide Arena. Game time is set for 7 p.m. ET with live coverage on FSN Ohio begins with the IceBreaker pre-game show at 6:30 p.m. and includes the Blue Jackets Ice Cap post-game show immediately following the game. The game will also be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM Sports Radio 1460 the Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101.
