The Columbus Blue Jackets today announced that center Nick Drazenovic
has been added to the team’s active roster on emergency recall from the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.
Drazenovic, 26, has appeared in seven games with Columbus this season, recording five shots on goal, seven hits and 29 face-off wins. The 6-1, 192-pound native of Prince George, British Columbia has also scored 17 goals and dished out 32 assists for 49 points with 18 penalty minutes and a +11 plus/minus rating in 54 games with the Falcons this season. He ranks second on the club in scoring behind LW Jonathan Audy-Marchessault (19-40-59, 64 GP).
Signed by the Blue Jackets as a free agent on July 1, 2011 after spending four seasons in the Blues organization, Drazenovic was St. Louis’ sixth pick, 171st overall, in the 2005 NHL Draft. He skated in three games with St. Louis (0-0-0) and 278 games with the Blues’ AHL affiliate in Peoria (70-90-160) from 2007-11. In 41 appearances with Springfield last season, Drazenovic recorded 13-28-41.
