The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated forward Mike Rupp off Injured Reserve, club President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced Monday.
Rupp suffered a broken foot on Jan. 16 against the NY Rangers and missed the last 12 games before the Olympic Break. Acquired by Columbus from Phoenix on Oct. 8, he has tallied 3-2-5 and 54 penalty minutes in 35 games this season. Held without a point in his first 19 games, Rupp has collected 3-2-5 in his last 16 outings and has posted a “plus” or “even” plus/minus rating in 12 consecutive games (+7 in streak). The Cleveland, Ohio native has recorded 14-11-25 with 122 penalty minutes in 118 career NHL games.
The Blue Jackets return to game action on Thursday, March 2 when they travel to Denver to face the Colorado Avalanche. Game time is set for 9 p.m. ET, with FSN Ohio's Ice Breaker pre-game show starting at 8:30 p.m. The game will also be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM Sports Radio 1460 the Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101.
