COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated left wing Matt Calvert off Injured Reserve, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Calvert, 24, posted one goal and one assist for two points with six penalty minutes in nine games this season prior to missing the past four contests due to an upper body injury suffered on November 7 at Carolina. He has recorded 30-35-65 and 119 penalty minutes in 162 career NHL games.
The Brandon, Manitoba native was Columbus’ fifth pick, 127th overall, in the 2008 NHL Draft. In 2013-14, he collected 9-15-24 and 53 penalty minutes in 56 games, setting career highs in assists, points and penalty minutes. He added 2-2-4 and four penalty minutes in six Stanley Cup playoff games. Calvert registered 9-7-16 with 32 penalty minutes in 2012-13.
