Alexander the Great vs. Pascal, Foote, Hejda and more

by Jeff Rimer / Columbus Blue Jackets

February 5

The Blue Jackets get back into what we hope will be the swing of things tonight against Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals at Nationwide. The Jackets look to end a season high three game losing streak against the Capitals who have won 10 of their last 15 to climb back into the playoff race in the Eastern Conference.

Pascal Leclaire gets the start in goal tonight hoping to regain the form he showed just prior to the All-Star break. I thought Leclaire looked real sharp in practice yesterday and look for him to have a strong showing tonight against the NHL's leading goal scorer (Alexander Ovechkin) and company.

I don't expect any other lineup changes this evening other than Adam Foote and Jan Hejda back as a defensive pairing matched up against the Ovechkin line.

On another topic... Duvie Westcott cleared re-entry waivers and has been recalled.

The Blue Jackets are still waiting for Dick Tarnstrom's visa issues to be worked out but are hopeful the newest Blue Jacket will be cleared to join the team in Phoenix or San Jose.
