Joel Quenneville announced today that Brent Seabrook will join Duncan Keith and Jonathan Toews as the team’s captains.
“I’m very honored to be a part of the (leadership) group up here and wear a letter for the Chicago Blackhawks,” Seabrook said.
Seabrook takes over the assistant captain role from Patrick Sharp.
“For many years he’s been one of those guys I’ve looked up to and learned from,” said Toews, who has served as Blackhawks captain since 2008. ”It’s great for him to be recognized with a letter. He’s been a huge part of our success.”
The Blackhawks start training camp tomorrow at the University of Notre Dame and will host Detroit on Tuesday for the first of six preseason games.
