Comcast SportsNet, the television home for the most games and most comprehensive coverage of its Emmy-nominated coverage of 2010 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks, is ready to deliver another full season of thrilling NHL excitement beginning with live coverage of the HOME OPENER as Conn Smythe Trophy winner (Stanley Cup Playoffs MVP) Jonathan Toews, Norris Trophy winner (NHL Best Defenseman) Duncan Keith, NHL First Team All-Star/Stanley Cup Final Game 6 hero Patrick Kane, newly-acquired netminder Marty Turco and the rest of the defending Stanley Cup Champion Blackhawks face the division rival Detroit Red Wings on Saturday, October 9 at 7:30 PM.

Blackhawks play-by-play legend Pat Foley and former Blackhawks star/Chicago hockey icon Eddie Olczyk (handling color analysis) will once again be the featured announcing tandem all season long.

Prior to the scheduled 7:30 PM home opener face-off on October 9, Comcast SportsNet and CSNChicago.com will carry the 2010 Stanley Cup Championship banner raising ceremony LIVE from the United Center with coverage beginning at 6:30 PM on Chevy Blackhawks Pre-Game Live featuring hosts Chris Boden and Steve Konroyd. Before the pre-game show festivities at 6:00 PM, Comcast SportsNet takes a look back at the non-stop off-season of the Blackhawks with the half-hour special Stanley’s Summer Vacation.

Hosted by Chris Boden, the program features the amazing summer journey of the Stanley Cup throughout the city of Chicago to the hometowns of Blackhawks heroes Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. Jose Cuervo Blackhawks Post Game Live immediately follows the game featuring Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville’s post-game press conference (to also be streamed on CSNChicago.com), along with live locker room player interviews and complete post-game analysis.

In addition, on Wednesday, October 6 at 9:00 PM (and Fri, Oct. 8 at 7:00 PM), Comcast SportsNet will televise the latest edition of the Emmy-nominated Blackhawks TV. This one-hour special also focuses on numerous Blackhawks players and their personal journeys with the Stanley Cup this off-season. The latest edition of Blackhawks TV will also include exclusive footage of the team’s private ring ceremony held on September 29.
