Comcast SportsNet to carry live coverage of Blackhawks Convention Opening Ceremonies

Comcast SportsNet, the television home for the most games and most comprehensive coverage of the Chicago Blackhawks, is ready to start up the 2012-13 NHL season in a big way with exclusive, LIVE Opening Ceremonies coverage from the sold out 2012 Blackhawks Convention, which is being held downtown this weekend (July 20-22) at the Hilton Chicago.

On Friday, July 20 beginning at 5:00 PM (hosted by Chicago Tribune Live’s David Kaplan), Comcast SportsNet & will provide viewers with every thrill-packed moment of the convention’s opening ceremonies featuring introductions of Blackhawks players/coaches/front office executives, the singing of the National Anthem, exciting video montages, plus – a special live interview with Blackhawks Captain Jonathan Toews following the ceremony and much more!

In addition, Comcast SportsNet’s Blackhawks Pre/Post Game Live studio host Chris Boden will file reports for SportsNet Central (6:30 PM, 10:00 PM, 10:30 PM and midnight) and featuring interviews with Blackhawks players, coaches and fans. Plus,’s Blackhawks “Insider” Tracey Myers will also provide viewers with comprehensive online coverage featuring exclusive convention video highlights and numerous players/coaches/front office executive interviews.
