General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have re-assigned forward Dave Bolland to the Norfolk Admirals in the AHL.
Bolland has appeared in 49 games for Norfolk scoring 13 goals while adding 22 assists for 35 points with 37 penalty minutes and a +4 rating. Bolland made his NHL debut for the Blackhawks back on October 25th versus the Vancouver Canucks and did not score.
Bolland was named the AHL "Rookie of the Month" for the month of February picking up 16 points (6 goals and 10 assists) in 13 games. The 20-year-old Ontario native climbed into the top 20 of AHL rookie scoring with 35 points.
Bolland was the Blackhawks' 2nd round pick (32nd overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. Injuries hampered Bolland in the early part of his first pro season. He suffered a shoulder injury during training camp that hampered him well into the start of the season. In his last 22 games played at Norfolk, Bolland has had almost a point per game posting 21 points (7 goals and 14 assists).
