The Chicago Blackhawks have assigned defenseman Nick Leddy to the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.
Leddy, 19, has recorded one goal in 14 games with the Blackhawks this year, as well as 10 points (2G, 8A) in 22 AHL tilts with Rockford this season during his professional debut. The Eden Prairie, Minnesota, native won a bronze medal with Team USA at the 2011 World Junior Championships in Buffalo, New York, earlier this month, collecting two assists and a +1 plus/minus rating in five contests.
The Blackhawks will be represented by a league-high four players (Kane, Keith, Sharp, Toews) and two coaches (Quenneville, Haviland) at the 2011 NHL All-Star Game in Raleigh, NC on Sunday, January 30. The game will be broadcast nationally on VERSUS and can be heard locally on 720 WGN.
