Chicago’s eighth consecutive campaign on Comcast SportsNet features 50 contests, beginning with the season opener against the Dallas Stars at the American Airlines Center on Friday, Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m. CT. “Blackhawks Pre-Game Live” will air prior to the majority of games on Comcast SportsNet with “Blackhawks Post Game Live” immediately following each contest.

The Blackhawks fourth consecutive season on WGN-TV Channel 9 launches on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 7:30 p.m. CT when the team hosts the Boston Bruins at the United Center in a matchup of the last two Stanley Cup champions. Chicago makes 20 appearances on the station, which was also its home from 1961 to 1975.

In addition to regular-season coverage, four Blackhawks games will be televised during the 2011 preseason, two each on Comcast SportsNet and WGN-TV.

Six Blackhawks tilts, beginning on Dec. 5 against the Phoenix Coyotes, will be carried nationally exclusively on VERSUS, while the Jan. 14 game at Detroit and the Feb. 19 contest against St. Louis will be broadcast nationwide on NBC. Additionally, Chicago will make at least four more appearances on national television in March and April, on either NBC or VERSUS depending on the NHL’s flex scheduling.

Every game in 2011-12 can be heard on the radio home of the Blackhawks, WGN Radio AM-720, with John Wiedeman and Troy Murray calling the action. The station will also carry three live preseason games over the air.
