The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Carl Dahlstrom on a three-year contract, which begins at the start of the 2016-17 season.
Dahlstrom, 21, has skated in three games with the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs this season. The Stockholm, Sweden, native tallied eight points (1G, 7A) in 50 games with the Swedish Hockey League’s Linkoping HC this year; he also added one assists in six postseason contests. Drafted by Chicago in the second round (51st overall) of the 2013 National Hockey League Draft, Dahlstrom made his North American debut last season with Rockford, recording one assist in two games. He has collected 15 points (4G, 11A) in 117 career regular-season SHL games and posted five points (1G, 4A) in 31 postseason tilts across three seasons with Linkoping.
