Blackhawks agree to terms with Carey

The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have agreed to terms with free agent forward Matt Carey on a two-year contract. Carey will wear number 25 for the Blackhawks.

Carey, 22, recorded 37 points (18g, 19a) in 38 games this season as a freshman at St. Lawrence University. He shared the team lead in goals, while ranking second in points and power play goals (11). The Hamilton, Ontario, native tallied a season-high three points on three occasions, including a season-best three-goal outing on Nov. 9 at Dartmouth.

Prior to his collegiate career, Carey earned 153 points (58g, 95a) in 93 career games with Hamilton and Toronto of the Ontario Junior Hockey League from 2010 to 2012.
