Two Blackhawk prospects were honored by their respective leagues with forward Troy Brouwer being named the Western Hockey League's "Player of the Month" while forward Michael Blunden was named the Ontario Hockey League's "Player of the Week."

Brouwer was the Blackhawks' 7th round pick in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He recorded 14 goals and 27 points in 15 games during the months of September/October while leading his team, the Moose Jaw Warriors, to a record of 10-3-1-1. He scored four power play goals, three game winners, and one shorthanded goal during that span.

Blunden was the Blackhawks' 2nd round pick in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He recorded 5 goals and 6 assists for 11 points in three wins last week for the Erie Otters while being named OHL "Player of the Week."

Blunden is tied for 8th in scoring in the OHL with 28 points.
