In the tightest race this season, Wojtek Wolski's short-handed goal against Nashville took home Avalanche Play of the Week honors by garnering 35.43% of the vote.
All three eligible plays earned at least 30% of the vote, with David Jones' tally against Tampa Bay (33.28%) and Paul Stastny's goal following a Ryan Smyth drive to the net (31.29%) coming up just short of Wolski's totals.
The play now automatically qualifies for Colorado’s year-end “Play of the Year” bracket-style tournament – to be determined by Avalanche fans.
Be sure to check back each Friday during the season, as three new choices for the Avalanche’s “Play of the Week” will be posted for you to vote upon.
Wolski's Shorty - 12/4 @ Nashville Wojtek Wolski notched the Avalanche’s first short-handed goal of the season against the Predators. After Cody McCormick intercepted a Nashville pass, he fed the puck to Wolski in the slot. From there, Wolski chipped the puck past Pekka Rinne’s glove hand for his fifth goal of the year.
