Salei Sets Up Bruno
Ruslan Salei sticks with the play, leading to Andrew Brunette’s first-period goal. Salei had his shot attempt from the left point blocked by Kim Johnnson, but grabbed the rebound and threw a puck at the net which Brunette tipped past Niklas Backstrom at 4:01.

Wolski Scores from Dot
Ian Laperriere’s strong work along the boards paid off in the form of Wojtek Wolski’s second career playoff tally. Laperriere draped himself over Minnesota’s Keith Carney in the corner, forcing the defenseman to make an errant pass into the right faceoff circle. Wolski intercepted the puck and beat Backstrom at 5:37 of the first period.

Smyth Feeds Hejduk
Milan Hejduk’s second goal of the playoffs at the 16:14 mark of the middle frame extended Colorado’s lead to five goals. Ryan Smyth streaked along the right wing and headed toward the goal before sending a feed across the crease, where Hejduk tapped the puck home.
