The Colorado Avalanche is on a 15-day, seven-game road trip out east, tied for the longest such roadie for the club since the franchise moved to Denver in 1995. Colorado's last seven-game trip was Oct. 8-21, 2009.
ColoradoAvalanche.com is blogging about the team's events during its two weeks away from the Mile High City.
The Avalanche had a pre-scheduled off day and did not hold any formal team activities. Some players grab ice packs and get work done with the trainers, but other than that, the day is meant for them to relax and rest up for tomorrow's game against the Jets.
Colorado made two roster moves late morning, reassigning Calvin Pickard to the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League and activating Semyon Varlamov from the injured-reserve list. Head coach Patrick Roy hinted after yesterday's game in Washington, D.C., that Varlamov could get the start in goal against Winnipeg.
The Avs are scheduled to have an 11:30 a.m. morning skate on Monday at MTS Center before their game versus the Jets.
