Mueller's Back To Work

The sun was definitely shining a little brighter this morning as the Avs took the ice for practice with one notable addition - Peter Mueller.

The winger, who missed all of last year, has only appeared in three games this season.  But Mueller participated in the team's full practice sporting a blue jersey alongside Matt Duchene and David Jones
"As of right now, things are going smoothly.  I'm happy to be out there" - Peter Mueller

"I'm just taking it one day at a time and I'll see how I feel tomorrow," said Mueller, who wasn't shy of throwing his weight around during practice.  "Everything has been going smoothly.  The coaching staff and the medical staff have been behind me 110 percent.  We're not putting a significant date on it.  We're just seeing how every day goes.  And as of right now, things are going smoothly. I'm happy to be out there."

"It's a good sign.  He skated and made it through practice today - contact practice - and he looks like he's improving," said head coach Joe Sacco.  "We're going to let him have a pregame skate tomorrow morning and we'll see how he feels after that, and make a decision then.  He could be available tomorrow night."  Coach Sacco also mentioned that Mueller has been skating on his own (with no contact) with one of the coaches for over a week.

"I've been watching for 18 months, coming up on 19, and it's not fun," said Mueller.  "You want to be out there helping your team win and gettting the two points."

But Mueller remains patient, taking things one day at a time albeit with a noticeable "Movember" moustache.

Peter finished his media scrum with this quote: "The sun is out shining right now. I'm just trying to have a good day."
