Liles Not Quite Ready to Return

by Aaron Lopez / Colorado Avalanche
Avalanche defenseman John-Michael Liles (wrist) has been ruled out of tonight’s game against the New Jersey Devils (5:00 p.m. MT/Altitude TV).

The Indianapolis native was injured in Colorado’s Feb. 15 contest at Detroit and was placed on Injured Reserve on Feb. 18. Tonight’s game will mark the fifth straight that Liles has missed with his current injury. He will be re-evaluated on Friday.

Avalanche head coach Tony Granato had said following Wednesday’s practice that Liles “should” play against New Jersey, while noting that a firm decision would be made following Thursday’s morning skate.

The fifth-year defenseman leads all Avalanche blueliners in goals (7), assists (21) and points (28).
